Artist's Abode

My mom and I did a house tour the other day of an artist friend. Her house is very eclectic and has a lot of her own art displayed, which made it a great space to shoot. The downstairs of the house has the traditional wood floors and trim, but is filled with brightly colored art and textiles. From what I could tell, she is drawn to the color orange. She creates different scenes all over the house- on her mantle, tables, and bookshelves. Upstairs was more feminine with floral bedspreads and pillows. A few of my favorite things about the house were the seagrass floors upstairs, and this shelf full of cats and dogs with their faces hand painted on in the upstairs guest room. Her studio was also very appealing. I've always wanted a space where I could have a bunch of art materials all over the place to use on a moment's notice to create a collage. Thanks to my mom for providing the third and last photograph. Cool pig!

  1. What a beautiful home. It looks so polished, and yet cozy and comfy at the same time.
